Access Control
Access Control is where system access rights are setup. System users are allocated to the access control group which determines what modules and restrictions they have within the system.
This module explains components of access control, functions available in access control and provides detailed explanation on setup and management of access groups.

It is recommended that the Contact's module be read prior to this module

  What is access control?
Access control refers to the restrictions that can be placed on users. These restrictions are based on two areas:

  1. The modules and functions a user has access to

  2. These access restrictions refer to operational restrictions such as:
  3. Modules: access to system modules such as the Contact report or Payment module
  4. Functions: according to modules a user has access they have different functions they can perform in these modules including: read or update records
  5. The access control group that users are allocated to determines these operational restrictions

  6. The data the user can see

  7. This access restriction refers to the data users have access to, for example: an agent can only see information/data associated with them. This means Rennies Travel cannot access any reservation or contact information stored for Thompsons Travel This data restriction is determined by a user's relationship (relationships are setup on the contact details screen - refer to the Contact module for detailed information)
