Contacts

  Components of a contact
A contact consists of three main components

 General details
General details stored for a contact, this includes name, contact information such as telephone, fax and email details

 Contact role
Contacts roles are assigned a contact to identify their role in the reservation process. Each role has unique attributes that need to be established for a contact, for example: a contact can be setup with an 'agent' role, this means that details such as commission, rate types and payment plans must be allocated to the contact. In Resrequest 1.5.1 there are three contact roles:
  1. General: this is a contact that has no role created
  2. Agent: this is a contact who can be allocated as the 'agent' who (usually) derives commission from a reservation. An agent contact can also be a 'user'
  3. User: this is a contact who has a username and password on the system

 Contact relationship
Contacts can be setup with an internal or external relationship
  1. Internal relationship: this relationship indicates if this contact is a staff member who works for a business unit (such as the central reservation office/one of the properties or a camp)
  2. Agent relationship: this relationship indicates a contact is linked to an external agent for example a staff member who works for an agency and derives commission from reservations which they generate. A contact can have an agent relationship or be setup as an agent
