Relationships can be established between contacts. These relationships determine what links a user has. Additional rules/restrictions are applied depending on the relationship applied.
Internal Relationship
This relationship indicates if this contact is an internal user and works for a business unit (such as the central reservation office/one of the properties or a camp)
This relationship can also be setup for internal users from the Property module (on the Property-User tab)
Agent Relationship
Only contacts that are setup as users can have this type of relationship applied
This relationship indicates the contact is linked to a contact that is setup as an agent. This means that when the contact makes a reservation, the agent attributes e.g. commission applied on reservations is determined from the contact they have the agent relationship with
This relationship also determines what reservation information is seen by the user-contact, setting up this relationship means that data accessible by the user-contact is filtered to the agent (this means that the user-contact cannot access data not related to his/her agency)
The most common Agent relationship is applied to 'individual' users that work for an agent organisation
An contact with an 'Agent' role cannot have an 'Agent' link as this would create conflicting agent attributes such as commission on reservations
A contact with an agent relationship cannot be setup as an agent (as this would conflict with the commission setup on the agent role)
This relationship can be pre-set if the contact was created from the Agent pop-up of the related agency (by creating or allocating a user to the Agent)
