Overview |
- An accommodation rate can be made up of any number of different components, each component has different attributes
- Components could include items such as: accommodation, levies, meals, extra activities
- Allocating components means that the item can ultimately be separated for account purposes,
but the guest is quoted a consolidated amount (incorporating all accommodation services)
- Providing the ability to allocate cost components means that commissions, tax rates and charge
types can be made at component level, for example: a 'twin superior' room is the same as the
'twin standard', except flowers are added in the room each day. For the twin superior a component
'Flowers' is added to the room, which is charged per unit and not by the number of people in the room,
furthermore the agent does not receive commission on the flowers and the amount must be split on the company
invoice (for tax purposes such as the tax rate is different on flowers then accommodation)

Optional |
- Cost components that make up the amount calculated for standard occupancy are not considered
optional services, if a cost component is flagged as an optional component (i.e. the 'Optional'
field is set to Yes), the component is not included in the standard calculation, but is shown
in a separate pop-up when the user requests rooms with an accommodation unit that has optional
components setup
- Components flagged as 'Optional components' are displayed in an "Optional services" pop-up after the user has entered the number of rooms from the room numbers pop-up on the availability calendar
- Where the amount for the optional component is set to '0', the amount on the pop-up is displayed as 'No charge' - this can be used in cases where the user can request a 'free' service, for example: a non-smoking room
- Optional is a compulsory field
