Property      
 


The property module is where properties and accommodation types are created and managed. Properties and accommodation types are displayed on the calendar and are used to create reservation itineraries. The property module includes setting up:

  • Business units
  • Property details
  • Property notes
  • Property users
  • Property rates
  • Accommodation units

This module details managing the property and accommodation structure (creating, editing and deleting properties, accommodations and their related information). All property setup functions are available from the Property module (also known as the property tree). Only internal users with Properties: read, update or management access can access the property module.


Terms and definitions

  Property  

Property is the term used for a location, camp or site where guests can be accommodated. Properties consist of multiple accommodation types.Properties are displayed on the calendars (provided the user has been allocated access to the respective property). Property details that can be recorded include: contact details (such as address, telephone and e-mail), calendar notes (a description of the property available when the mouse is pointed at the property name on the availability calendar), terms and conditions (predefined notes that can be printed on system-generated documentation), system users linked to the property and Rates .Properties are displayed on the property tree with a black, bold label. Properties have accommodation items that can be created from them.Properties created can be selected as default options (on the Defaults table) for the principal and the Reservations Office.


  Accommodation  

Accommodation type is the term used for the room type guests can stay in, for example single, double, family room. There can be multiple accommodation types for a property. Accommodation types setup here are displayed on the calendars.Accommodation details that can be recorded include: accommodation name and abbreviation, number of units maximum capacity (i.e. how many people can the room accommodate), calendar notes (a description of the accommodation available when the mouse is pointed at the accommodation name on the availability calendar) and terms and conditions (predefined notes that can be printed on system-generated documentation).Accommodation items are displayed as subsets of a property (i.e. listed beneath and indented to a property)


  Unit  

In the property module unit refers to a business, property or accommodation type


  Parent  

Parent is a type of relationship one unit can have to another. A unit can only be called a parent when it has other units relying on it, for example: a property can only be considered a parent when it has an accommodation type (child) created from it. A unit can be both a parent and a child, for example a property has child units (accommodation types) and is the child of a business


  Child   Child is a type of relationship one unit can have to another, for example: from a property (parent), an accommodation type (child) can be created and inherit a ‘parent’ relationship
