To edit a rate, first select the rate by clicking the Search for existing rates button and selecting the
rate to be edited from the Select record pop-up
To edit the rate, click the accommodation unit to be edited, the Rate Component pop-up will open
Overview
This screen lists the cost components that constitute the rate charged for the accommodation type.
Cost components can be added, details amended or deleted. Values for Single supplement and Child discount,
which are conditional cost components, are displayed on the cost components screen.
Add a new component
Click the new button to create a new component
Click the Search button to open the Select Record pop-up. This pop-up displays all components listed
in the Component code table
Click the required component row to add it as a component
When a component is selected from the list it is displayed in the edit area with default values
(these defaults are setup in the Component code table)
Enter the rate amount and edit any of the default values if necessary in the edit area (refer to
Edit the Component for explanations of component attributes)
Click the Save button on the toolbar to save and add the new component to the list
Edit an existing component
Click on the component row to be edited (it will be displayed in the edit area of the screen)
If you are in view mode, click the Edit button on the toolbar
All fields (component attributes) except the description are editable
Description
This is the descriptive name allocated to a component on the component code table
This field cannot be edited. To change a component description, delete the component and create a new one
Charged
The basis upon which the charge is calculated:
Per person: this means that the component will be charged to each person in the room this
will multiple the amount X number of persons in the room X number of rooms
Per unit: this will multiple the amount X the number of rooms
Amount
The rate to be charged per chargeable unit (person or room)
The currency is derived from the rate type which is setup on the rate type code table
Commissionable
If the indicator is checked (set on) then commission will be calculated at the rate specified
on the reservation. The commission percentage is shown on both the Reservation Details screen and
the Reservation Billings screen and is usually derived by the agent allocated to the reservation
Optional
Optional refers to components that are not included in the standard costs, they are only
calculated on an itinerary item when the user requests the service
Optional services are displayed in a pop-up following the room numbers pop-up when an itinerary item is created
Optional services with a '0.00' amount are displayed as No charge optional services
Tax rate
The tax rate to be applied to the component, the tax rates displayed here are from the Tax Rate code table
Separate on invoice
All components will be consolidated on the proforma invoice, but can be split on the financial invoice (for account benefits)
Once the component has been edited, click the Save button to save the changes. The edit area will be cleared and the record will be updated in the component list
Delete an existing component
To delete a component, select the component from the list (the component will be populated in the edit area)
If you are in view mode, click the Edit button on the toolbar, click the Delete button on the toolbar to delete a component
Edit Variations
Two optional variations can be allocated to a room, these variations are applied according to the room configuration:
Single supplement: the surcharge amount applied when the number of people booked in a unit is less than 2
Child discount: the discount amount applied for each child booked into a unit
The variations are set when the user enters the room Adult/Child configuration from the calendar or reservation
If the accommodation unit had a single supplement variation, the single supplement would be applied as only 1 adult has been allocated to the room
To change the variations, click the edit variations button and edit the respective variations from the pop-up
From the variation pop-up enter the variation amount and click Save and Close to save changes and return to the component window
